Trainee Accountant / Bookkeeper
CS Accounting is more than your average accounting firm.
We don’t just sit at our desks crunching numbers, lodging tax returns and spending hours on hold to the Tax Office, we’re loads more fun than that! We do this not just by watching their numbers for them but educating and empowering them to make informed decisions about their financial future.
WHAT’S THE ROLE?
As a result of some serious growth in our business, we want to expand our team to provide greater support to our Senior Accountants and our awesome clients. Our dynamic duo of a Trainee Accountant and Bookkeeper work together to ensure that our clients always have someone to answer their questions and have even more expertise on their team to handle all of their financial and tax obligations.
Trainee Accountant
As a Junior Accountant, you’ll be responsible for:
Reconciling accounts payable and receivable
Producing accurate accounting reports
Providing advice and support to clients and colleagues
Preparing financial statements and budget forecasts
Providing professional written and verbal client communication
Assisting to ensure all deadlines and obligations are met
Bookkeeper
Our Bookkeepers are an integral part of our team, both in the office and sometimes on site with our clients too. You’ll:
Record day-to-day financial transactions in Xero
Provide advice to clients on bookkeeping issues or queries
Process payroll in conjunction with our client and team
Verify the accuracy of transactions entered into Xero
Provide professional written and verbal client communication
Assist to ensure all deadlines and obligations are met.
Important Note: So that we can guarantee our clients and our team have the support and access to our expertise that they need, the Junior Accountant and Bookkeeping roles are permanent ones with a minimum commitment of 3 days per week worked between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

Our new Trainee Accountant and Bookkeeper have some similarities; above all they believe wholeheartedly in our mission to empower clients to reach their financial goals. They won’t shy away from a tough conversation, and they’ll be very comfortable working in a team environment where they are expected to jump in and help others, whatever the reason.
You’ll also:
Be pretty tech savvy and adapt to new systems and software quickly;
Understand what professional communication looks like, while also having a bit of fun too;
Be able to relate to small business owners, their needs and their challenges;
Have a passion for numbers, even more so when they reconcile!
Trainee Accountant
Our Trainee Accountant will be working towards their Accounting degree and / or have up to 2 years practicing experience.
Bookkeeper
Our Bookkeeper will be working towards a Bookkeeping Certificate and / or have some pretty great bookkeeping experience in a small business environment.
